Memory tag

I saw this meme on Susan's blog and thought I would play along:

Participate if you like. Ignore it if you prefer.

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn’t matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It’s actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I’ll assume you’re playing the game and I’ll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don’t want to play on your blog, or if you don’t have a blog, I’ll leave my memory of you in my comments.

I have lots of memories with you, but I'd have to say my most vivid is when you, Brandon, and I drove up to Peach Days and we got in an accident. It was raining and the roads were really slippery. I still remember thinking, "surely she sees that car slowing down. I don't want to be a nag" just before we hit it and Brandon slammed into the back of my headrest, splitting his lip open. I remember we both freaked out at how he looked but he didn't want to go to the hospital until we got him a mirror. Then he agreed. We ended up having a great time at Peach Days afterall, though. :)

First memory I thought of: The Too Stupid to Sleep club.

Staying up talking until FIVE IN THE MORNING the day before classes. To wit: it was mostly James talking about his love life. Urrrgh, my brain hurts just REMEMBERING the day afterwards. But it sure was fun.

My brain doesn't retain physical details as well as I would like, so please excuse the vague nature of this memory-like impression.

You were Julia's new roommate. We talked off and on, but never really hung out like buddies. You were level-headed and a little mysterious. You had a wry smile sometimes when you spoke that made me wonder if I'd ever be cool enough to understand your more subtle layers of meaning and humor.

You were a world traveler bearing a strong testimony, a master of a language that I've always wanted to speak, and a good "sister" to other people I loved in your apartment.

I warned you it would be vague :)

i think the freakiest memory i have of you is from one quiet (at least it started out quiet) night in uruguay. i was sound asleep in my comfy bed when all of a sudden i heard an extremely loud crash. i woke up and walked toward the sound. as i neared the bathroom, i heard moaning. i opened the door (swinging saloon style doors i must add. what was that all about?) and discovered you lying there among the shattered ruins of our bathroom sink. i quickly ran next door to our landlady's house to use the phone. it was like 2:00 in the morning, i'd only been in the country for a month or so, and i was banging on her door saying, "mi companera esta enferma". wow, it's a wonder either of us made it!
